Your texts stay on your phone.

Shoofox filters spam texts on your iPhone. This policy says what happens to your information, in plain words.

The short version

Filtering happens on your phone. Shoofox has no account, no analytics and no ads. We don't collect, sell or share your texts or anything else about you.

Your texts

iPhone passes Shoofox's filter only SMS and MMS texts from senders who aren't in your Contacts. It never passes iMessages or texts from your contacts.
Shoofox checks each text against the lists and rules you turned on, on your phone, and tells iPhone which folder it belongs in: Junk, Promotions, Transactions, or your normal inbox.
The text isn't stored, logged or sent anywhere. Shoofox can't read your Messages history, and iPhone doesn't let it delete texts.
Text you paste into the Test screen or the rule wizard stays on your phone and isn't saved. The rule wizard works on your iPhone, using Apple's on-device model where available.

Your filters

The lists and rules you set up are stored on your phone, in a space shared only between the Shoofox app and its filter. They aren't sent to us.

Purchases

The $2.99 unlock is sold through the App Store. Apple handles payment and tells Shoofox only whether this Apple Account has the unlock. We never see your name, email or payment details. Apple's privacy policy covers that transaction.

This website and list updates

This website is hosted by Cloudflare. We don't add analytics or tracking to it and don't keep logs of visits. Cloudflare processes requests to deliver the site, under its own privacy policy.

When list updates are available, Shoofox will download updated word lists from this website as a plain file. That request doesn't include your texts, your filters or anything that identifies you.

Children

Shoofox isn't directed at children and collects no personal information from anyone.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above. If a future feature needs to send anything off your phone, such as optional reporting of a spam text, it will be off by default and this policy will say exactly what's sent before the feature ships.
